Why Multiple Floats?

Your 1st Float:

You’ll feel the release of tension and stress as you get used to being in the tank.

Your 2nd Float:

Your body adapts, and the experience deepens.

Your 3rd Float:

Total immersion. Clarity. Transformation.

Each float builds on the last, creating lasting benefits for your mind and body.

The Benefits of Floating:

Reduced Stress and Anxiety

By minimizing external stimuli, floating allows your mind to enter a state of deep relaxation.

Enhanced Creativity

Creativity and problem-solving thrive in a quiet, calm mind.

Improved Sleep

Regular floating can help regulate your sleep patterns, leading to more restful nights.

Pain Relief

Floating can alleviate physical pain by reducing muscle tension and inflammation.

How Does It Work?

Water and Epsom Salts

The float tank is filled with a solution of warm water and Epsom salts. The high concentration of magnesium sulfate in Epsom salts helps your body relax and draw toxins out of your skin.

Buoyancy

The high salt concentration makes the water denser than your body, allowing you to float effortlessly. This weightlessness sensation can reduce physical tension and stress.

Sensory Deprivation

The tank is soundproof and dark, creating a sensory deprivation environment. This means you’re shielded from external stimuli like light, sound, and temperature

Floating isn’t just a wellness trend – it’s an experience that resets your body and mind like nothing else. Whether you’re looking for stress relief, pain management, or a space to recharge your creativity and escape the daily noise, floating has changed so many lives.

You deserve to feel good too. All it takes is the choice to try.

The Experience

1. Preparation

You’ll shower before entering the float tank to remove any oils or lotions that could interfere with the water’s buoyancy.

2. Floating

You’ll lie back in the water, allowing your body to float effortlessly. You’ll wear earplugs to block out any residual sound.

3. Relaxation

As you float, your mind will begin to quiet down, and you’ll enter a state of deep relaxation or even meditation.

4. Post-Float

After your float session, you’ll shower to rinse off the salt and emerge feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

The experience was out of this world! Amazing customer service, the water was the perfect temperature – I could hardly tell where I was in space. It was very relaxing. Thank you to the staff for such a warm welcome and service. I can’t wait for my next float!

Miss Laureen

Amazing experience! Will be making this a part of my monthly health routine.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. Melissa is truly a kind and compassionate soul. This place is a calm get away to reflect, heal and rest. I’ve floated here for years but had the opportunity to use their red light therapy recently for an injury. With physio and roughly 10 red light sessions, an injury that I’ve had for 17 years has diminished to nothing! I also noticed my skin looking better, my numbness in my hands resolving and better sleep quality. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Had my first float today and loved it! Bought a membership and it will definitely be a big part of my self care going forward!

What an amazing float facility! The customer service is top notch, the atmosphere is incredibly relaxing, and the float tanks are well maintained and very clean. They provide everything you need to float comfortably. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in floating!

I have been avidly floating for about 2 years now and strongly recommend the practice to anyone trying to find stillness and a sense of presence. It has helped me find focus and improved my decision-making and thought processing. I have floated all around North America and although all of my experiences have been excellent, Float Love feels like home!

The moment I lower my body into the water, I can feel a shift in my breathing and a wave of calm rush over me. It’s truly amazing!

The moment you enter Float Love and that door closes behind you, it’s like stepping into the most peaceful, mystical realm, where at least for a short while, all your problems seem to fade away. No matter who is working at the front desk, you are always greeted in the most warm, welcoming and calming manner. I’m so glad this place exists, especially on those days when you need to get away from those struggles and difficulties in your life that seem so unbearable.

Beautiful experience with very beautiful people. Safe and clean environment where you can show up fully as you are and unravel while you float away. Very cool therapy!
Laura Crawford
I had my first float ever today. It was an amazing experience. I have been really stressed lately and was unsure about the float. The staff were super sweet and welcoming. They did a short orientation about floating and then I got started. It was very relaxing. I will definetly be back. Thank you so much!

I can’t even describe the relaxation that comes from a float! Not to mention I can stand up straight, muscles aren’t tense, and I generally feel better. And the red light therapy feels amazing, too!! Like being at the beach but without the skin cancer risk. Well worth every penny!
I Rock
A very human place held by rad people. An Oasis of calm and love in the middle of the city. You can see and feel all the work that’s done there comes from the heart. Good service and the place is clean. Happy to go every time I can for a good reset of myself, it helps immensely the body pain and the energy management for a post partum mama like myself. I come out of there restored.

Common Questions

How often should I float?
For new floaters, once a week for 4 weeks will give you a great introduction to floating. Floating is like going to the gym, doing yoga, or learning any new skill: you have to practice to get proficient. After 3 or 4 intro floats, you should be able to gauge how often you need to float to maintain that lovely glow. A lot of people find that 2 or 3 times a month does the trick.
Is there anything I should do to prepare?
Don’t drink coffee for several hours beforehand (it can make your system jittery). Don’t shave or wax immediately before because the salt water can irritate your skin. Eating a light meal about 60 to 90 minutes ahead of time stops your stomach from sounding like an angry monster while you float. Other than that, no specific preparations are needed.
Do I need to bring anything?
If you have longer hair, you may want to bring a comb, and if you wear contacts bring something to put your lenses into while you’re in the tank. Other than that, we provide everything you need (towels, robes, earplugs, body wash/shampoo, etc.).
Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! We have four rooms available for floatation therapy.
Why do I have to float for so long?
It really doesn’t feel like that long once you are all settled in!
Do I have to stay in the whole time?
There aren’t any latches on the tank doors, so you can get out at anytime. That said, the 75 minutes usually goes by w-a-a-a-a-y faster than you’d expect (our average customer usually says it felt like 30-45 minutes).
Will I get dehydrated if I stay in the float tank too long?
No – your skin doesn’t even “prune up”. You do absorb a lot of magnesium from the Epsom salts though.
What’s the longest someone has been in the tank?
Christopher from Float On takes 12 hour floats about once a month. The inventor John Lily apparently floated for much, much longer periods of time.
What if I’m claustrophobic?
Being suspended in a tank is more like floating in outer space than being shut in a box. You’re always in control of your environment, and even people with extreme claustrophobia have reported having no problems during their time in the tank.
Will I drown if I fall asleep in there?
Nope. Some people fall asleep, but the water is sufficiently buoyant that you stay afloat. The worst that can happen is getting woken up by a bit of salt water in your eyes.
Do you change the water in between each client?
Nope, no need. The water is filtered at least three times through a 10 micron filter that catches anything bigger than pollen. We skim the water with a pool net and do a flashlight check before and after each client. On top of that, the highly sterile salt water is sanitized with UV light and Ozone along with 35% hydrogen peroxide.
What if I just got a tattoo?
We love tattoos! However, you have to wait to float until after a fresh tattoo has healed up, since a tattoo is essentially an open wound (and we wouldn’t let anyone float with an open wound). It is also important to wait a couple weeks to ensure that the salt water doesn’t soak the scab and then pull out any of the color.
Can I float if I am menstruating?
Yes. Just follow the same protocol you would for a entering a swimming pool.
Can I float if I’m pregnant?
Absolutely! A float tank is a safe place for a pregnant momma to lay on her back or belly without the weight of baby being an issue. We even provide pool noodles and extra pillows! It is probably a good idea to talk to your doctor before you come in, just in case, but there are no direct contradictions in regard to pregnant women floating during any trimester.
Is floating covered by my medical insurance?
Not yet. We are working with the Canadian Float Collective (a non-profit organization) to create a regulatory body much like massage and acupuncture have done. If you are a medical professional, a policy writing extraordinaire, or someone who would like to help this process along, please contact us and we can work together to make this a reality.
How long have float tanks been around?
John C. Lily invented the first float tank in 1954. Those early floats involved full submersion in water with a breathing device that completely covered the face. The first lay-down commercial tanks were invented in the early 1970s.
